You can now reply to a comment posted on your Profile through regular e-mail. Another development on the No. 1 social networking website, Facebook.
A post on Facebook blog explains it: “These notifications–for comments on such content as status updates, photos, videos and Wall posts–allow you to stay informed about your Facebook friends’ activities without being logged in when you’re on the go, on your phone or at work. Today, we’re launching the ability for you to participate in these conversations by replying directly to these e-mail notifications.”
Facebook’s posting flexibilities emerged through mobile phone access and message alerts sent through e-mail. Members are looking forward for Facebook to make it possible to respond to private messages through basic e-mail. This may not be implemented despite the revamps made on its messaging system last year.
We all know that Facebook is supported by advertising. The fact that users are required to log in on the social network means seeing more ads, more clicks and page impressions that they will not be able to do in their e-mail boxes. Expect that e-mail activity for Facebook will be kept limited to simply keep the social network running. Most workplaces block access to Facebook and other social networks to refrain employees from diverting their attention. This added feature may help relieve stress but should not affect productivity at work. So there’s no reason to fret guys, limited e-mail access to Facebook serves its good purpose in an overall level.
