Lechon Baboy

In the Philippines, this is the most popular when it comes to special events and occasions. We call this Roasted pig in English. Unlike other roasted pigs from different provinces, Cebu’s lechon is considered to be one of the bests in the country. Its unique taste is evident from its soft flesh to its crispy juicy skin. Here, lechon is not dipped in the usual gravy, but in a mixture of vinegar and fish sauce. Filipinos from all over the country (& the world) always prefer Cebu lechon.
Talisay City here in Cebu is where you can see the Inasal Festival celebrated every year during their City fiesta October 14-15. Talisay is known for its “Inasal Baboy” (Roasted Pig). Its name is taken from the ‘Mantalisay’ tree which is abundant in the city. It is primarily a residential and trading center. Talisay City is part of a metropolitan area known as Metro Cebu.
I’ve wanted to join this Inasal Festival someday and find out why Talisay City deserves to be recognized as the lechon hub of the Philippines. Of course, I would want to see how they are able to give that juicy and delicious taste since some of the recipes are passed down from generation to generation. I love to eat roasted pig with hanging rice (puso in cebuano dialect) filled with spicy sauce.
You can also visit Talisay City official website http://talisaycitycebu.gov.ph and you can find various information about the city and its beautiful spots. INASAL FESTIVAL is celebrated October 14 to 15 in Talisay City, Cebu. A showcase of the city’s historical heritage and identity promoting the city as an aqua and tourist hub. Lechon baboy is always present in every occasion like wedding, birthdays, beach outing, fiesta, etc. This is why pinoy can’t live without lechon baboy on the table. Even foreigners love to eat lechon baboy because it is juicy and crispy. When it comes to food I prefer to eat lechon baboy other than any other food served on the table.
When I go to the SM mall here in Cebu I love to eat at CnT lechon baboy. Their lechon is the most delicious within the entire island of Cebu and it is very juicy. You can find lots of other stores, who sell lechon baboy, in the streets and other places in Cebu.
